Greatest Love Story Never Told

The greatest love story never told…

i know sometimes she imagines he is standing just beyond the reach of her eyes…
and that he is observing her for just a few more moments. He is mesmerized…
and if she just waits a moment longer he will glide through the door and say…
“It’s time my love, I can’t wait another day…”

I know sometimes he hears her laugh floating on the waves and dancing across the shore…
and that he is imagining a day some day that maybe she will walk to him just as she did before…
and they will hide away somewhere away from eyes that tell them No…
and she will whisper, “It’s time my love, I can’t wait another day…”

So they maybe loved a bit too innocently maybe a little too passionately… and maybe somewhat naive
believing their love could conquer anything just like in all the movies and fairy tales…
but it is this naivete that made these lovers among the greatest that ever loved…
So we look at them and say “sha child, let me spell…
this our for you” and we judge them silly loving fools…

but maybe did you think, it is we who are the fools… to place these rules
of borders and division
on a power such as love… ?
perhaps it is the world that is mistaken…
a bit too jaded, too cynical, too misguided to understand
that love comes from God’s hand…
and maybe it was they who taught us… a lesson we forgot…
Love knows nothing of politics and history… it only knows it thrives
Inside purity.
Love does not care about humanity’s prejudice and separation…
It only knows it thrives where there is pure devotion…

The things that divide are created by man…
But yes, once again… love is a gift from God’s hand.
It was evil that told them “No” and bid them go
into painful futures, and a spiritual torture…
Theirs is the greatest love story never told… is, not was, because…
in her daydream and his, in his wish and hers, in their memories and our history…
it still lives… Love lives.
