July Fourth Is More to Me

Can we just not talk about it?

…………………………………………………………..  if they got to live it, why do you get to ignore it?

I just wanna eat my bbq and sip on beer

can’t you see we just all wanna be happy here

……………………………………………………………..   if your happy was a right of theirs

…………………………………………………………….. if your happy wasn’t build on their blood & tears

I never made nobody do nothing

just lived and worked for a living

so I’m not taking the guilt trip you’re giving

……………………………………………………………..  so i guess as long as you and yours got what you need

……………………………………………………………..  you don’t care who else has to bleed

……………………………………………………………..  is that what American has come to mean?

…………………………………………………………….. oblivious of the suffering over seas

……………………………………………………………..  or just down the street where your home

…………………………………………………………….. just as long

…………………………………………………………….. sitting inside your zone

…………………………………………………………….. it’s all good til their misery explodes all over your face

……………………………………………………………..  Happy Birthday to you

……………………………………………………………..

……………………………………………………………..

……………………………………………………………..  It’s not the end of your joy to demand better for others

…………………………………………………………….. it’s not the end of your sanity or your life to help the world be better

…………………………………………………………….. but if you continue to ignore, you’re just as guilty of murder and neglect

…………………………………………………………….. as those who do it direct

…………………………………………………………….. America has a chance to take what we are and be better than forefathers

…………………………………………………………….. ever intended

…………………………………………………………….. Be rebellious like teens who don’t wanna follow in steps of abusive father

…………………………………………………………….. and mother

…………………………………………………………….. we can do better and to say that is NOT to be unpatriotic

…………………………………………………………….. the unpatriotic thing is to allow our nation to abandon it’s people and mission

…………………………………………………………….. of equal and fair play for all

    1. Exactly where I’m coming from. Admitting the mistakes of generations past and some among us today is not disrespectful to those in the past. We have to LEARN from what they did right and DEFINITELY learn to avoid what they did wrong.
